US-Iraqi beauty guru Huda Kattan will recieve a Dubai Star; emirates's answer to Hollywood's Walk of Fame. Founder of the cosmetics line Huda beauty, Kattan is also a beauty blogger, entrepreneur and makeup artist.
Kattan moved to Duabi and was employed by Revlon Beauty as a make up artist. In 2010, upon the advise of one of her sisters Huda started a beauty-related blog on Wordpress, where she posted beauty tips and makeup tutorials. In 2013 her blog became known all over and released her first product, a series of false eyelashes, through Sephora.
Huda's company, which is based in Dubai, later started to offer other beauty products such as foundation, highlighters palettes, liquid lipsticks and liquid eyeshadows. Kattan has over 40 million followers on instagram and has been described as " a Kim Kardashian of the West" , and was declated "one of the ten most powerful beauty influencers," by Forbes Magazine.
She is awarded a star alongside Lebanese singer Fayrouz, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Jackie Chan and other international celebrities.
The Dubai Stars award the world’s highest achievers in a walkable tribute in the city’s downtown area.
