It may not be that easy for Netflix users to piggyback off friends and family's account in the future.
Netflix announced crackdown on password sharing during a quarterly earnings call.
The streaming service currently limits the number of devices that can stream from one account.
According to a survey conducted by CNBC, nearly 10% of Netflix users don't pay for their accounts.
Chief Product Officer Greg Peters said that Netflix was 'continuing to monitor' the situation.
“We continue to monitor,” Peters says. “We’ll continue to look at the situation and we’ll see those consumer-friendly ways to push on the edge of that, but we’ve got no big plans at this point in time in terms of doing something different there.”
It wasn't disclosed how Netflix will monitor password sharing, according to Daily Dot, they could look to limit IP addresses and which can be a problem for many friends and family who live apart.
