F1 countdown begins in Bahrain

A major media blitz is underway to put the spotlight on next month’s Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.

A giant F1 poster can be seen on the side of Almoayyed Tower in Seef and in the coming weeks thousands of F1 flags will be hoisted on the kingdom’s highways, intersections and landmarks

The Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2020 will take place from March 19 to March 22 at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), Sakhir.

Grammy-award winning DJ and producer Afrojack has been announced as the main concert act and will take to the stage on March 20.

This year, some of the biggest attractions include a 42-metre high Ferris Wheel, a carousel-like Ghost Rider speed ride, carnival games and roaming acts.

In addition to Formula 1, there will be plenty of other racing action in the Bahrain Grand Prix with three highly competitive support series: the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) Formula 2 Championship, the FIA Formula 3 Championship which will appear for the first time and the Porsche Sprint Challenge Middle East.

Formula 2 and Formula 3 will be holding their season-opening rounds in Bahrain in support of Formula 1.

Tickets are five per cent Value Added Tax (VAT) free and can be bought online at BIC’s official website www.bahraingp.com, or contact BIC hotline +973-17450000, or at BIC’s City Centre Bahrain stand on the ground floor.
