Film Review- Love Aaj Kal 2
Love Aaj Kal2 is narrating the story of pair of lovers of 90s and 2020- an apt offering for the Valentine Day as one may guess. The love here is of Imtiaz Ali brand -confused, uneven ups / downs and all accompanied by some soulful music.
This one is presented in a non- linear form going back and forth in time with unnerving frequency. Not many born in last century are likely to assimilate the complexities fully. Hence the film appears disoriented and purposeless often.
Kartik Aryan essays a double role, with the older one looks more convincing. Sara Ali Khan has an imposing screen presence as proven in her previous films also. The dependable Randeep Hooda does well in the kingpin role.
The film stars with the Rumi quote, “The minute I heard my first love story, I started looking for you”.
Nevertheless, don’t rush to watch this anthology of 2 pairs of Cupid hearts unless you have the patience to watch convoluted love tales of Imtiaz Ali stable.
