For the first time in Bahrain!
A 'Mindfulness at schools' curriculum has been launched which aims to improve students cognitive and immunity functions, promote overall well-being and positive behaviour.
It includes yoga and meditative breathing and mindfulness techniques and the initiative will be implemented in government schools in partnership with Arabian Gulf University, Al Jawhara Center, Ministry of Health's school health department, the Ministry of Education and Al Hilal Hospital.
There will be full evaluation of cognitive functions and immunity response.
The content of the curriculum was created by Fatima Al-Mansoori, founder and executive director of "Sustainable Humanitarian Development Est. education, training and consultancy" , with collaboration of James White, founder of Mindfulness Schools Ireland.
The school book foreword will be written by Dr Amal Al Jowder, health promotion expert at UNIDO.
