New hospital rules


Salmaniya Medical Complex will provide telephone or distance medical consultation for patients seeking follow-up examination.

New cases requiring direct medical examination by a specialist are excluded, the Health Ministry announced last night.

Medical consultations in paediatric, psychiatric, obstetrics and gynecology clinics will be provided over phone only.

As for surgery, orthopaedics, ENT and other specialties, decision on whether or not patients have to report to hospital will be taken by the department.

Patients will have to report to hospital as per appointment to avoid crowding. Patients shall be accompanied by one person only to avoid crowding.

Meanwhile, all morning visits will be stopped. Visiting time will be from 5pm to 7pm and no more than two people will be allowed to visit a patient. Children and old people will not be allowed to visit.

Visiting days will be reduced to four per week – Friday, Saturday, Monday and Wednesday. Some main gates will be closed and entrance 11 will be allocated for visits.
