Prevention kits presented to young cancer patients

PREVENTION kits were presented to cancer-stricken children and their families as part of a campaign launched by the Bahrain Future Youth Society’s Smile initiative to protect them from Covid-19, the GDN reported today.

The kits included masks, gloves and sanitisers and were delivered by the volunteers to the homes of families affiliated with the initiative.

The beneficiaries were also briefed on the proper use of the items.

Aware of the precautionary measures, volunteers gathered in small teams, and sterilised the kits during packaging and distribution.

“Providing in-kind assistance to the families of children with cancer comes within the framework of Smile’s initiative to provide all possible support to the sick children, extend a helping hand to their families and back them in these difficult circumstances,” said society chairman Sabah Al Zayani.

An emergency plan was also activated by the board of directors by suspending all group activities and employees are working remotely with a hotline for parents to communicate and obtain psychological and social support services, he added.
