
Five people died of the coronavirus in Bahrain yesterday as 462 new cases were registered, alongside 644 recoveries.
Among the dead were four Bahrainis – three men, aged 66, 49 and 65, as well as an 80-year-old woman – and an expat man, aged 44.
This brings the total number of fatalities to 78.
The Health Ministry revealed that of yesterday’s 462 new cases, 233 were expatriate workers, 229 contacts of local cases.
It said that an additional 644 people recovered from Covid-19 yesterday, taking the total number of recoveries to 19,781.
The ministry added that of the 5,408 active cases, 78 are receiving treatment and 42 are in critical condition.
Bahrain has so far registered 25,267 cases, including active cases, recoveries and deaths. The kingdom has also conducted 529,242 tests for Covid-19.
