Bahrain yesterday registered a record 705 new cases of Covid-19, alongside 643 recoveries and one fatality.
A 57-year-old Bahraini man died from the coronavirus yesterday, taking the death toll to 217.
Of yesterday’s 705 new cases, 119 were expatriate workers, 576 contacts of local cases and ten travel-related.
It said an additional 643 people recovered from Covid-19 yesterday, taking the total number of recoveries to 56,087.
The ministry added that of the 6,885 active cases, 159 were receiving treatment and 40 in critical condition.
Bahrain has so far registered a total of 63,189 cases including active cases, recoveries and deaths.
The kingdom has also conducted 1,301,170 tests for Covid-19.
