The Galleria Al Maryah Island will mark the UAE’s 49th National Day in patriotic style, with its #IAMUAE celebrations. Set to run from November 29 to December 3, the festivities will highlight the diversity of the great nation’s people, the inclusiveness of the culture and the countless achievements of its rulers.
Guests can look forward to visiting The Galleria during National Day to take part in a variety of celebrations, including experiencing the interactive #IAMUAE community installation. Located at the North Atrium near Debenhams, the installation will invite family and friends to upload a selfie and create a social media mural of the UAE’s flag using their own images. To commemorate this important day, there is also the chance to take home mementoes including pins and flags.
Commenting on the National Day celebrations, David Robinson, general manager at The Galleria Al Maryah Island, said: “National Day is always a special time of the year for everyone that calls the UAE home and we are delighted to be able to join our guests in celebrating the spirit of the union after a challenging year for all. Guests are in for a truly spectacular experience with the launch the #IAMUAE initiative as it showcases the beauty of the UAE’s diversity in honour of the UAE’s 49th National Day.”
The #IAMUAE National Day celebrations will continue with the Abu Dhabi debut of Fantini Mosaici’s ‘Designed for Sharing’ charity art exhibition running from Sunday 29 November 2020 until Thursday 3 December 2020. In collaboration with Fantini Mosaici, The Galleria will display 19 mosaic tables in the shape of the UAE map. The exhibition’s pieces will highlight some of the nation’s greatest landmarks and values that make the UAE the special place it is. Designed with intricate detail, each piece was created by an influential member of the community to celebrate the diversity of the nation.
“This great nation is home to a mosaic of cultures, religions and rituals, and this is why the debut of the ‘Designed for Sharing’ art exhibit meshes perfectly with our #IAMUAE campaign,” added Robinson.
The collection of unique designs by citizens and residents from all walks of life includes contributions from artists, sports personalities, journalists, photographers, designers, and entrepreneurs such as Sebastian Tagliabue, Argentinian soccer player professional for Al Nasr and the UAE National team, Nashwa Al Ruwaini, Emirati entrepreneur, philanthropist and CEO of Pyramedia, and Fedrico Alba, professional Italian golf player at the Saadiyat Beach Golf Club. The Fantini Mosaici design studio has also created two unique pieces for the project, one inspired by the UAE flag and another showcasing the new UAE brand logo.
With a full calendar of seasonal celebrations, weekly activities and special events for the whole family, there's always something to see and do #AtTheGalleria. To ensure a safe shopping environment for all, visitors of The Galleria are advised to wear face masks, observe social distancing, freely use the public hand sanitisers and opt for contactless payments where possible.
