
Bahrain yesterday registered a record 896 new cases of Covid-19 alongside 627 recoveries and two fatalities.
This was the highest number of Covid-19 cases ever recorded in a day in the country.
Bahrain registered 841 new cases on September 16 last year and a staggering 812 on Thursday.
A Bahraini man, 68, and a Bahraini woman, 76, died yesterday, taking the total deaths to 395.
Of the new cases, 370 were expat workers, 515 contacts of active cases and 11 travel-related.
An additional 627 people recovered, taking the total recoveries to 103,878.
Of the 7,039 active cases, 122 are receiving treatment and 59 in critical condition.
Bahrain has so far registered a total of 111,312 cases. The kingdom has also conducted 2,874,570 tests for Covid-19.
