The Power of Words

We know that being humans, we don't want to live in a state of seclusion- a powerful way to socialize is through communication. Out of the different modes of communication, the most powerful one is Verbal communication or speech.  Verbal communication can be either self-talk or talking with others.

Positive self-talk is always healthy. Statements like "I can and I will," " I am priceless, I am unique,"  "I love myself," etc. are some of  the positive affirmative statements which helps in building self-confidence and play an essential role in life.

After self-talk comes the next important part, which is talking with others. Keeping grammar and language apart, the words we use to describe a situation or communicate with people are of tremendous significance. Out of emotions and habit, we may spit out words like anything, which will be a clean proof statement for the listener to estimate our reality. Naturally, we may speak to our family and friends in a basic manner, whereas we talk diplomatically to our colleagues. Diplomacy is the art of telling plain truths without being offensive. If we practice the same diplomacy in our daily communication, then it positively influences our character.

Words are like a double-edged sword-it can inspire or destroy someone. It is true that when we talk to some people, we get a kick in life. We feel like doing something better as their speech inspires us a lot. Such people are called energy creators. Many kings have given powerful speeches on the battlefield, which motivated soldiers and won the battle. We have to play wisely with the words, and it's always good to taste our statements before spitting them out.

Some people are experts in discharging our spirit, while others boast a lot when interacting with them. We should be careful not to lose our good vibes while we interact with them. Such people are called energy extinguishers. The only way to deal with such people is to give away a smile and keep in mind, " I am not going to get carried away with these statements however you  try."

The primary thing is to identify whether the person is an energy creator or an energy extinguisher from your acquaintances. Once you have categorized the person, you should contact a person from an energy creator category the next time you are  depressed.

Now it's our turn to think about whether we should be an energy creator or an energy extinguisher. Language exerts a hidden power over people, like the moon over tides.
