Great Place to Work® Middle East

Great Place to Work® Middle East will officially recognize the Best Workplaces in the United Arab Emirates on the 25th of March 2021, where the top-performing companies with the highest levels of trust culture will be celebrated along with their target-driven leaders who led them through a turbulent 2020.

With the aim of inspiring leaders around the world, Great Place to Work® surveyed over half a million employees globally on key issues that include how trustworthy and caring an organization is for their employees in times of crisis. Within this framework, employees were asked about their physical, emotional and financial health. Needless to say, the impact of COVID-19 on all organizations across the Middle East continues to be uncompromising, even for seemingly successful organizations experiencing concealed struggles. Moreover, the heroic actions taken by the organizations have not gone unnoticed during this critical time as companies got creative with their people-first approach to business.

Commenting on this year’s Best Workplaces list, Ibrahim Mougharbel, Managing Director for UAE, Qatar, Oman and Kuwait, Great Place to Work® Middle East, said: “The challenges of 2020 were tough, but our best workplaces for this year have persevered through this time of unprecedented upheaval and we can’t wait to celebrate them; we are not celebrating companies, we are celebrating heroes!”

To select the ‘Best Workplaces in the UAE’, Great Place to Work® Middle East conducts an evaluation of each participating company. Sixty percent of the company’s score is based on the results of the Institute’s proprietary Trust Index© survey, which is sent to the employees from each company. The survey asks questions related to their attitudes about the management’s credibility, employee engagement and job satisfaction. The other forty percent of the scoring is based on the company’s responses to the Institute’s Culture Audit©. This year, the audit was strictly built around the bold acts of leadership the organizations have undertaken in response to the COVID-19 crisis, and the specific ways the pandemic has impacted their people, business and the community.

Each entry is judged according to performance in eight key areas: Leadership, wellbeing, giving something back, personal growth, fair deal and how members of staff feel towards their manager, company and team.
