An Unforgettable FlashBack

She still remembers that night, and whenever she thinks about it, the flashbacks appear as if it just happened a while ago. There are very few moments in life where you can remember the exact details of a past event, and that event was recorded like a movie she would never forget in her mind.

It happened nearly a decade ago in the month of January. Her mother had just returned home two days ago from visiting her family abroad. That night, the whole family was watching TV when all of a sudden, her father started getting a seizure. They called their neighbour and in a few minutes her mother called an ambulance as well. Her father used to get seizures every now and then as he had suffered a brain hemorrhage when she and her siblings were kids, and the right side of his body was left paralyzed. So they assumed that they would take him to the hospital and expected him to be fine.

What they didn't know was that it would be the last time he would suffer a seizure. By the time the ambulance came, his breathing had completely stopped and he had passed away. May God have mercy on him and make his life better in the next world.

That tragic event changed her perspective completely and made her realise that nothing is permanent. We all will leave this world someday, and it just might happen within a span of a few minutes or hours. What remains with us forever are the memories we have.

I came across this instagram post few days ago for a writing contest. I took a screenshot of it and decided that I will participate in it. I had always wanted to write and to inspire people. So I kept thinking about what to write for a few hours. Then all of a sudden, yesterday I was at my aunt's place when I just randomly opened my mobile's notepad and started typing this. Once I started, I didn't want to stop.

Initially I wanted to write a love story, and this in fact is the best love story I know, as that night she lost the one she loved the most.

If someone still asks me about how anyone has passed away, it makes me very emotional to describe it to them. However, now that I have written it, I have come to a realisation that expressing by writing is something very useful. A writer can take out their worries and thoughts in the best way.

The purpose of sharing this was that sometimes in life, specially after we lose a dear one, we often ask God why He took that person away from us. What we don't realise at that moment is that this is the cycle, a life is lost and a life is born.

This is the true balance of earth. Though the other person, may it be your spouse, parents, kids, siblings, or whoever else may have left you, but you are still alive and if God has given you more time, make it useful and make it purposeful and memorable.
