Global Village pays tribute to Season 25 partners who contributed to Silver Jubilee anniversary success and celebrations


The annual awards ceremony was held last night ahead of today’s season finale, with numerous accolades provided to the winners for their outstanding efforts and contributions




Global Village, the UAE and wider region's leading multicultural family destination for culture, shopping, and entertainment, held its annual awards ceremony yesterday, May 1st, to honour its partners, travel trade and media professionals that have contributed to the remarkable success of Season 25. The ceremony was held in the Majlis of the World and highlighted the efforts and support of all concerned parties throughout the Silver Jubilee anniversary season. Numerous accolades were provided for outstanding achievements across multiple categories, which served as welcome reminder of the value partners and media bring to Global Village every year.




Driven by a vision to bring the creativity and wonder of the world to millions of guests every season, the Global Village team has worked side-by-side with thousands of partners representing cultures from around the world. These partners helped to deliver great cultural experiences through shopping, dining, entertainment and attractions for guests to the vast destination. Travel trade partners have also gone beyond and above to ensure that tourists were able to enjoy the Global Village milestone season during their visit to Dubai. Global Village also recognises the gracious support of media outlets and journalists across the UAE.

Global Village’s partners were recognised for their innovative ideas and unique concepts that brought excitement, enjoyment, and adventure to guests’ Silver Jubilee experiences. The Iran Pavilion was named ‘Best Pavilion’ for its resounding popularity and experience. The Africa Pavilion won the ‘Best Craftsmanship’ award for their talented artisans who are testament to African unique culture and creative traditions. The Morocco Pavilion claimed the ‘Best Façade’ title for showcasing the country’s rich cultural heritage. Camelicious Café was named ‘Best Coffee Shop’ for Season 25, Old Tbilisi Restaurant became this year’s ‘Best Restaurant’ winner, Tuk Tuk won the ‘Best Kiosk’ award, and Fluffy was announced as the ‘Best SME Kiosk’. There were also partner award wins for Chicki, Iraqi Art, and Haunted House, who won ‘Best New Concept,’ ‘Best Retail Shop,’ and ‘Best Walk-In Attraction,’ respectively.




The evening also saw Global Village acknowledge journalists and media professionals who made valuable contributions during Season 25. Mohamed Abdel-Maqsoud from Al-Roeya newspaper won the ‘Best article in Arabic newspaper’ award, and The National’s Janice Remita Rodriguez won the English version. Shireen Farouq from Al Bayan Newspaper, Hesham Ahmed Salah Ahmed from Khaleej Times, and Shinoj K Shamsudheen from Media One TV won the ‘Best Coverage’ award for Arabic, English, and TV, respectively. Meanwhile, Yousra Zaki at Gulf News claimed the award for ‘Best Social Media Impact,’ while Afsal Thazhakuni and Mustafa Abdul Azim from Al-Ittihad Newspaper were recognised in the ‘Best Photography’ and ‘Media Excellence’ segments. There was also a prize for Al Wahda Newspaper’s Sameer Al Saad in the ‘Media Creativity’ category, while Maha Adel of Al Wahda Newspaper and Diana Ayoud of Emarat Al Youm won the inaugural Jury’s Choice Awards.

Global Village recognised tourist professionals, Rayna Tourism, Rutwa Tourism and Parmar Tourism as best performers in the travel trade sector.

Very special thanks are also extended to the many Governmental authorities who played a pivotal role in this milestone season. Amongst many others, Global Village is particularly grateful for the strong support of Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs, Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Dubai Economy, General Directorate of Civil Defense in Dubai, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Roads and Transportation Authority, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Security Group, Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Dubai Customs, Dubai Media Office, Security Industry Regulatory Agency, Dubai Executive Council, and Prime Healthcare Group.

Global Village’s Silver Jubilee Season began on October 25, 2020. Ever since, celebrations have taken place daily across the park and within the 26 pavilions, while 24 Guinness World Records™ titles have also been claimed in honour of the milestone season. The 25th and final attempt will take place today, May 2nd, at 9pm for a spectacular Silver Jubilee anniversary finale. Global Village is open from 6pm until 3am for guests to witness this exceptional event and to take advantage of a last night of shopping and dining from around the world.
