Happiness is Priceless, A Melancholic Millionaire

Sam, was a middle class retired School teacher, with a big family, consisting of his two sons , and their wives and children.

He had a tough, but beautiful life, he struggled financially a lot to run his family. He prayed every day, every day that he wanted to be like the richest person in his town, Mr. Richards, who owns many buildings, factories, palaces and even a Rolls Royce.

One day god gave Sam a choice in dream, that when he wakes up, he will be as rich as Richards, but he needs to have the same life of Mr. Richards in all means.

Sam was happy, accepted the deal, and he woke up, he was excited! The cot, mattress, the rooms, the lightings, everything, everything was beyond his dreams, he sees his valets and maids walking down his corridor, he was amazed by seeing his huge palace, his garden, swimming pools and the Rolls-Royce parked in his garage among his huge collection of other cars and bikes.

He was exploring his palace, he walks down by the garden, his garage and the rooms. He sees beautiful painting hanging on the wall the art works, his pictures, his family’s and numerous beautiful paintings, suddenly he sees a huge picture of his youngest son framed, it had fresh roses on its bottom, a lighted candle and had a caption “We miss you “. Sam was shocked and realised that his son had passed away in an accident a year ago, in the very same Rolls-Royce, which was parked outside.

Suddenly, one of his maids came to him with some tablets. He asked her, “for what!!?”

She said,” this is for your cancer, the Diabetes and Blood pressure medicines will be served after the breakfast “.

Sam realised that he was under treatment for more than six years and he haven’t gone out of his palace for more than two years.

Sam was speechless, and it was then his eldest son and his wife came to him, and gave him a full bag of money and said, the accountant asked him to give and informed that that the factories generated a record revenue in this month and informed Sam that they will be leaving soon as their son has a speech therapy class in his Special School.

Sam cried when he came to know that his grandson is specially-abled. He started sobbing and while having his breakfast all alone in his huge palace, with no family around him, without his grandchildren on his lap, just below the huge picture of his youngest son and a diet food which had no taste,  by looking at the bag full of money and the papers showing his huge revenue he realised “ Money can buy anything in the world , but not happiness !”

Mr. Richards had only money, he was just a melancholic millionaire and Sam had a more beautiful life than Mr. Richards.

Happiness is priceless.
