Hundreds of cleaners who work outdoors have been given umbrellas to protect them from Bahrain’s scorching summer heat.
The first-of-its-kind initiative, spearheaded by Southern Municipality director general Asem Abdullatif, aims to cover 500 workers.
A total of 150 employees of waste collection company Urbaser have already received the small blue brollies, with the municipality aiming to distribute 350 more in the coming days.
