Fitbit Charge 5: Redefining strength in Bahrain

A nifty tool to help keep a pulse on fitness, stress, heart health, sleep and overall well-being is the new Fitbit Charge 5, which the maker says is its most advanced health and fitness tracker in a thinner, sleek design.

The device comes with a brighter, colour touchscreen, up to seven days of battery life and six months of Fitbit Premium included.

This means deeper insights, actionable guidance, and a range of more than 500 workouts, plus mindfulness and nutritional content.

Coming soon to Charge 5 will be Fitbit Premium's new Daily Readiness experience as well as Sense, Versa 3, Versa 2, Luxe, and Inspire 2 devices.

Charge 5 also includes built-in GPS, 20 exercise modes, automatic exercise recognition, and an estimate of V02 max - the maximum rate of oxygen consumption measured during incremental exercise.

Premium gives users access to more than 200 workouts from certified trainers and brands like Daily Burn, barre3, obé and new high-energy workouts from LES MILLS.

Charge 5 is the company's first tracker to include an EDA sensor, which measures the body's response to stress through tiny changes in the sweat glands on the fingers, and also included is a Stress Management Score in the Fitbit app.

The Premium option also gives users access to more than 300 meditation and mindfulness sessions from brands and experts, like Ten Percent Happier and Mindful Method by Deepak Chopra.

The company has entered into a partnership with Calm, an app for sleep, meditation, and relaxation, which will soon provide Premium members with access to Calm content.

Charge 5 tracks the heart rate 24/7 and provides notifications and a holistic view of other key wellness metrics via the Health Metrics dashboard in the Fitbit app, including breathing rate, skin temperature variation, and SpO2.

The device also packs in tools like daily sleep score, sleep stages and smartWake alarms.

Beyond health and wellness support, Charge 5 lets users view stats, make contactless payments, receive/send notifications from/to smartphones (quick replies with Android only), and choose from 20 clock faces, with the swipe of a finger.

Ten percent thinner than its predecessor, Charge 5 has an aerodynamic design.

With a new AMOLED color display, Charge 5 is the company's first tracker with an always-on display option for added convenience to see your stats or while training.

The display is also two times brighter than its predecessor.

It comes with a choice of lightweight silicone infinity bands, breathable sport bands, plush nylon hook, and loop bands, and hand-crafted premium Horween leather bands.

Available online and in-stores in Bahrain this fall through Virgin Megastore and other retailers, Charge 5 comes with a price tag of BD82.900.
