Qatar defeated Bahrain 1-0 in their Group A match on the opening day of the Fifa Arab Cup at Doha's Al Bayt Stadium tonight.
Abdulaziz Hatem scored the lone goal of the match in the 69th minute.
Earlier, Iraq and Oman drew 1-1 in Group A. In Group B, Tunisia routed Mauritania 5-1.
