THE SUNLIT MINARET
The sun shone in the clear sky painted with tints of orange and pink. A perfect morning with the chirping of birds and beginning of summer.
Breeze blew gently across his face as he sat on the seat for ages as he did. His eyes sore from the night before. Wornout, Wishing for a sunrise in his heart than the one he saw up above. He looked across his shoulder to the sunlit minaret and said a silent prayer. The pain, the hurt clearly evident. For he was weary, aged and slow. Hands scarred with hard labour. Looking up at the sky hoping for moments like these to change our lives forever. He heaved a sigh to let the pain free, but nothing helped the aching heart.
His eyes shifted to the creak of the door as the little girl popped out. Smiling as always she beamed of moonlight and hopped to water the plants. Asking her how was she doing he found himself a little lighter. Her merry reply mending his feeble heart. He saw his daughter in her, for his were miles apart.. and as if she sensed and understood she looked at him and said "it's jumma today. I pray your prayers will be heard"
And just like that. She sparked a light and happily hopped her way back home. While the dear old grey teared up, wishing it we're all true.
Passing his day with his work. Couldn't shake the thought off. Until twilight dawned and his hopes had gloomed. Awaiting forever, till he heard the ring.
He picked the call and said "it's been a while my dear princess". His heart released the weight. Finally reunited. As true and pure as the love between the sky and earth.
His throat bobbled up with emotions as he bowed his head low to the minaret. And said "was God please bless the little girl of moonbeam smiles and sunshine heart".
'For he heard her prayers for him.'

It is said that 'once love is given in the universe it can never go to waste; it will come back to you when you need it the most, in a form you have never known.'
And I believe it to be true. It could be in various forms and not just 'love' itself.
A little late to wish, ✨Ramadan Kareem✨
