On 11th Apr22 American women’s association (AWA) celebrated the holy month of Ramadan at their general meeting by setting up a Ghabga held at Awal hall, Gulf hotel.
There were many festivities for the members & guests like ladies wearing Arabic dresses called Jalabiyas, all the guests were served with Arabic coffee, dates & tasty cuisine plus different booths were set up by the members who are selling special Ramadan decorations, fashion , ladies were allowed to take photographs for memories in a special corner.
New American ambassador spouse Meghan Bondy also graced the event by her presence.
There was also a Bahraini, local speaker who converted into Islam many years ago & did a very good presentation about Islam which enhances the knowledge of the attendees. The members were given small tokens of incense packed neatly in a box, the celebration started from 8 pm till 10.00pm.every one loved the event.
As everyone knows that Ramadan is a month of fasting for Muslims & having a Ghabga is an Arabic tradition, where the host calls all family & friends to meet & eat together. Ghabga is an Arabic word that means gathering. Do try to attend one as it’s a good experience.
