Honour Killing
(Crime Thriller in limerick )
“It’s seems like an insider job,”
Said the experienced Inspector Bob
The room was locked
The family was shocked
Each one controlling a sob..
The dead now framed and adorned with garland floral
The youthful smile a mystery or a story amoral
The smell of agarbatti and flowers wafting
As if some secret it was hiding
Was there a struggle or a quarrel ?
Detectives interrogated the neighbors,
Found some twisted tales and gossipy flavors
Yet the puzzle was getting a shape
Was it a murder or rape ?
Did the poor girl have a few haters ?
Each finger print was sent for a check
The room of the deceased was a wreck
Cell phones pics were a revelation
There was an alliance found on investigation
And the body did have a mark on the neck !
Inspector Bob smelt some play foul
Lover boy in jail had an innocent scowl
Interrogation proved he was not guilty
He was too naive for this city
Clues found and the police was on the prowl
Back at the crime scene
A few things seemed ‘too clean’
On the carpet lay a button
The investigators had a discussion
Family had something going in between
The button belonged to the father
For whom religious bias was important, rather
Cold blooded murder of the darling daughter
Spine chilling act of human slaughter
It was a case of killing for honor !
