The investiture ceremony of the newly-selected school prefects was held on Wednesday at The Indian School Riffa Campus auditorium.

The Investiture Ceremony is a solemn occasion wherein all the young students are prepared to don the mantle of leadership and discharge the responsibilities entrusted upon them by the school.

School Executive Committee Member-Academics and Procurement Mohammad Khursheed Alam graced the ceremony as the Guest of Honour along with Principal Pamela Xavier, staff and students.

Selected students of grade III were sworn in as the council members, which included Head Boy Alvin Kunhiparambath , Head Girl Mariam Ahmed Fathy Ibrahim, Asst. Head Boy Blesswin Brawin, Asst. Head Girl Swathi Chavarattil Sijesh, Eco-monitor Wateen Khalid S Alharbi and twenty prefects.

The event began with the national anthem of Bahrain and India, followed by recitation from the Holy Quran, school song, and lighting of the lamp. Principal Pamela Xavier gave welcome address.

‘For us, the Investiture Ceremony is not just about providing titles, but about conferring responsibilities to the students to take charge of the school and take it to new heights with their leadership skills, communication and teamwork’ she said.

In his felicitation address, EC member Mohammad Khursheed Alam said key leadership qualities can be learned, honed, and improved at all levels of the school. He mentioned Gandhiji as an icon who represented simplicity and humility. The very best leaders are also visionaries.

They have a goal that they can unite a team around and a plan to help them get there. The Guest of Honour, Principal, Head Teachers and Coordinators pinned the badges for all the student council members. The principal swore in the newly appointed student council members.

As suggested by the student council members, a library in every classroom initiative was launched by the guest of honour and the principal. Vote of thanks was delivered by the Head Boy and Head Girl.
Hon.Chairman Prince S Natarajan said in a message that good leadership in schools helps to foster both a positive and motivating culture for teachers and a high-quality experience for learners.
Hon. Secretary Saji Antony said prefectorial councils are a great way for students to take on leadership roles.
