When we come across the word early childhood it sometimes might make you wonder what is diffrent about early childhood from childhood. This is the term given to the kids learning phase from birth untill 8 yrs, children start learning about their surround from the time of their birth parents are the child's first teacher. Parents help the child with all their basic needs and then they teach the child to do it independently like eating, walking, talking etc. Then a child gets into formal education where they meet many teachers teaching diffrent subject and on.
According to research a child learns actively between the age group 2 to 7, they start using language, expressing their needs, observing there surrounding, imitating the adults and learning everything arround them good and bad they also start socializing, make friends and learn about emotions. It is recomended that the chilld should receive proper care and trusted enviorment suitable for their cognitive development.
This is the reason Early childhood education is given importance in a child's developmental stages. There are many theories and methods on how to give care for kids, Early childhood teacher would be aware of all of them and give the utmost care required for the child. There are many learning difficulties which would need early intervention which would be difficult to identify at home, but in a classroom environment a teacher can easily identify and give the attention needed.This is also one of the reasons why early childhood education is recommended.
The method of teaching will only be play and toy based pedagogy at the early stages only when the child reaches the motor skills requirement they are taught to hold pencil and write. But the learning happens even without writing and reading that is the beauty of the early childhood education. Kids don’t feel stress or burden at school they experience freedom, everything in designed for the kids needs they have fun learning, understanding and exploring new things. Having such a independent environment for kids is very essential at the early years of development.
