More rain on way


More thundery showers are on their way, with temperatures likely to drop to 14°C on Tuesday.

Today is likely to be cold, cloudy and windy, according to weathermen.

Bahrain is expected to witness atmospheric instability on Tuesday due to air depression, to be followed by rains, according to weather maps updates published by the Transportation and Telecommunications Ministry’s meteorological department on its website.

The next wave of rain will be accompanied by thunderstorms and southeasterly winds, between seven and 12 knots, reaching 15 to 20 knots at times, turning northwesterly in the evening.

Personnel from the Civil Defence, traffic, community police and Public Security continued their massive clean-up operation following heavy rains over the past few days.

The Operations Room dealt with 112 rain-related cases, traffic patrols covered 1,010 cases, including minor accidents, and the Civil Defence dealt with 50 cases, including 20 calls related to falling trees, lampposts and sunshades.
