Holistic development of kids is the need of the hour, most of the traditional teaching methods are not fulfilling this need, hence teachers are trying new techniques in teaching-Learning process, one such pedagogy is Art Integrated Learning. Though kids will learn Art as a subject itself, Art integration will happen in all other subjects.It is proved beneficial for kids learning process, increases concentration span, ignite creative thinking, kids with learning difficulties understand better and start contributing in class activities. Many teachers have tried this method in their classes across the globe and reported its success. By using this method for instance a child will learn English, Hindi and Math using Art.

This pedagogy allows a teacher to design the Lesson plan by using art as a medium of instruction. 

Example: In an English class a teacher can start her class by discussing about toys or food or pets and build the conversation and encourage her students to draw a picture of the child’s favorite toy or food or pet. Then help them frame sentences describing the picture. Later use the same sentences for reading practice as well. Similarly, in a math class while solving story problems or introducing maths concepts first kids should be given opportunity to understand the question by drawing or performing the situation and then proceed to solve the problem and introduce new concepts. 

Using art and colors give children opportunity to think creatively, understand the questions, relate it to real life situations. Art is not restricted to drawing and painting but in all its diffent forms; visual arts, performing arts, fine art; a teacher can choose the best art form that suites her lesson and write an lesson plan accordingly and execute it. Integrating Art in Teaching-Learning process help in achieving Social, Emotional, cognitive, and Physical development in kids which is the key for Holistic Development of our young citizens.
