Have you tried reading to your kids….

Reading to your kids from the young age helps them develope reading habit, if a parent is reading to their toodler they will enjoy the story along with the warmth which creats wonderful memories in that tender age, which stays with them as happy memories. A child needs many such happy memories to grow up into a confident adult. Reading develops creativity and imagination, kids learn new words and their meanings.

When starting reading choose picture books and use native language to narrate the story, teach one language at a time. We should try to use many words and expressions while narrating stories. Most of the story books have stories which teach the child to learn moral or information about surroundings, insist on this while reading the story. After the book is familiar to the child, while reading the story give a pause in between the story and let the child take over from there. Encorage  children when they read or try to say the story even if they do mistakes, don't correct immediatly wait for them to finish. Then tell them what they missed while reading or narrating the story, this helps kids to build their confidence.

Bedtime stories are the best choose to set a reading time with kids, this is when the child enjoys spending time with parents the most. It gives them a good night sleep and create good memories. While reading the story parents can also develop conversation about child’s point of view. If you are wondering that they are just little kids and all these doesn't matter, then its time you start looking at kids from a diffrent perspective. They understand every emotions but are less expressive. As an adult we should learn to understand their small world and make them explore that.

Reading is the gateway of our universe….
