H.E. Zaki Nusseibeh pays tribute to the UAEU institutional accreditation team


Al Ain, UAE: His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to His Highness the President of the UAE and Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), today paid tribute to the academic and administrative team that led the process of successful ten-year institutional re-accreditation by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC).

In his speech to the assembly, the Chancellor said, “On behalf of UAEU, the University of the Future, I would like to express our pride and gratitude for your unwavering efforts in achieving the wise vision of the Father of the Nation, Sheikh Zayed. He wanted UAEU to be a radiant hub of cultural and intellectual enterprise, nationally, regionally, and globally. He wished it to drive sustainable human development based on the highest recognised international standards.”

The Chancellor thanked the team responsible for implementing the re-accreditation process and praised the university’s strong and forward-looking senior academic and administrative leadership for steady steps of progress such as the gradual introduction of co-education of male and female students and the establishment of a comprehensive system of data collection and analysis that enables an integrated process of learning outcome assessment and continuous improvement of academic programs.




The Chancellor gave particular mention to the team for winning WSCUC’s praise for their commitment to quality enhancement as an ongoing process and the development of important structures and functions that enable future strategic planning, and for introducing long-term comprehensive financial models and analytical tools. He noted that WSCUC had congratulated UAEU for its rapid development and adoption of effective alternatives for teaching and learning in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Concluding his address, the Chancellor wished everyone continued success and prosperity and expressed his commitment and hope to see more of their innovative and creative ideas. He said, “Your success, your solid and forward-looking capabilities, and your integrated approach to quality enhancement and institutional planning, have highlighted the outstanding value of our university. They are evidence of UAEU’s vital capacity to excel on the international stage and to enhance its reputation as a pioneer, exceeding all expectations in innovation and the generation of academic outcomes of international standard that benefit both society and industry. They confirm UAEU’s role as a major support for the national vision to graduate flourishing and sustainable future generations.
