Hams Fekri has been named the nation’s very first “Saudi Idol”!

Female finalist Fekri was named the winner of the debut local edition of the hugely popular global franchise last night live on MBC1 and MBC IRAQ.

Presented by the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and MBC GROUP, the live final of “Saudi Idol” featured three finalists out of the initial 14 contestants who have been battling it out week-on-week in front of a live studio audience and panel of judges.

Reaching the finale were Fekri, along with Majid Al-Owaid and Abdulaziz Manie, with viewers voting for their favourite. Fekri emerged victorious, receiving the majority of the votes for the night.

In addition to being named the very first “Saudi Idol”, Fekri has also received a recording contract with Platinum Records – which includes the release of a full studio album in the coming months – as well as a brand new 2023 Nissan X-TRAIL.

Following her win, Fekri expressed her gratitude to the viewers who voted for her, stating: “Everyone’s love and support during this journey has made me a different person, and I hope to live up to their expectations. I am going to continue to work harder and harder!”

Fekri also paid tribute to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, thanking the nation for helping her achieve her dream.

“Saudi Idol” – Season One

Based on the international franchise, Season One of “Saudi Idol” began in December 2022, fronted by a star-studded panel of judges – Aseel Abubakr, Ahlam Alshamsi, Assala, and Majid Almohandis – in search of the Kingdom’s very first singing superstar, or “idol”.

In January 2023, a total of 14 contestants were through to the live shows televised live from the Boulevard Riyadh City.

In addition to Fekri, Al-Owaid and Manie, the 14 contestants also comprised Saad Al-Kulthoum, Fahd Al-Jumhur, Mona Al-Khawari, Abdullah Al-Amiri, Renad Al-Mahdi, Dhikraa Al-Hadi, Saad Al-Naji, Sarah Al-Youssef, Saif Ahmed, Ziyad Abdel Qader, and Ibrahim Al-Darbi.
