Saudi Arabian Formula One Grand Prix Review

With a commanding victory in Jeddah, Sergio Perez once again demonstrates why he is the Street Circuit King. Perez's teammate Max Verstappen, the reigning double world champion, finished in second place after rapidly climbing up the grid from a start in 15th place due to a driveshaft issue in his Saturday qualifying session. A dream weekend for Red Bull. After a major mixup by the FIA, Fernando Alonso earned his 100th podium in Formula One, a remarkable milestone only five other drivers have reached in the history of the sport. The FIA claimed that Alonso had not properly served a penalty during the race, thus George Russell was given the podium position after the race. However, the ruling was overturned a few hours later, and Alonso was reinstated in third place.

Mercedes gained 22 points from Russell and Hamilton's fourth- and fifth-place finishes, giving them a significant advantage over competitors Ferrari and Aston Martin in the Constructors' Championship. Ferrari finished sixth and seventh, much to the dismay of many fans, largely as a result of the deployment of the safety car on Lap 18. Lance Stroll had a fantastic race up until that time, but a mechanical issue forced an early finish. He stopped in a region on the track where a safety car would not usually be needed, but on this occasion it came out, which was disastrous for Ferrari as they had pitted both cars in the previous laps, giving them little to no chance of finishing on the podium and benefiting Red Bull who hadn’t pitted yet. Alpine finished 8th and 9th, a great result for them and Magnussen rounded up the top 10. Mclaren have been very poor this season and are certainly the major upsets of the season so far finishing 15th and 17th. They can't seem to get anything right.

Red Bull look unstoppable and if they continue to perform at this rate, there is no doubt that they will win the Drivers' and Constructors' championships. No other team can compete with them currently but that could change if certain teams see major improvements in car performance.

Overall, a great Saudi Race with lots of controversies and close racing action.
