Al Ain, UAE: The Board of Trustees of the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) met today, chaired by the University’s Chancellor, H.E. Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to H.H. the President of the UAE.
As part of its oversight responsibility for the implementation of UAEU’s risk management strategy, the Board noted the range and status of the University’s risk management activities in addressing key risks and the current critical incident, disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
The Board received and noted a report on the latest developments regarding the implementation of UAEU’s Strategic Plan 2023 to 2026 in support of national, economic and social objectives.
The Board received a progress report on the further development of the University’s research strategy and action plan and its incorporation into both a broader long-term strategy.
H.E. Dr Tariq Bin Hendi, Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee, presented the committee’s periodic report on the UAEU enterprise risk management program, an update on the financial statements for 2022, and the current status of the internal audit plan for 2023.
The Board received and noted a presentation of UAEU’s financial performance for the first quarter of calendar year 2023 and approved the budget targets for 2024.
