Tradition, culture and community spirit were the fervor as Kannada Sangha Bahrain celebrated the inauguration of the new Dr Ronald Colaco Lounge at the Kannada Bhavana and the induction of the new Executive Committee, headed by Mr Amarnath Rai, on Friday (October 6).
Karnataka's Home Minister Dr G Parmeshwara inaugurated the elegantly furnished lounge in the presence of NRI businessman and philanthropist Dr Ronald Colaco. Also attending were Dr Arati Krishna, AICC Secretary, and former Karnataka NRI Forum Vice-Chairman; Mr Ravikumar Gowda, MLA from Mandya; Mr. Mithun Rai, KPCC General Secretary.
In the evening, at the induction of the new committee at the Movenpick Hotel, Indian Ambassador to Bahrain, His Excellency Vinod K Jacob was the chief guest. Minister Dr Parameshwara graced the event as the Guest of Honour, together with other distinguished guests.
The dignitaries commended the achievements of the Sangha and the members’ efforts to build the first Kannada Bhavana outside of India. A book chronicling the life and journey of Dr Colaco was also released on the occasion. VIPs were honoured in the traditional Karnataka-style.
