The Bahrain Victorious 13 team is proud to announce its line-up of world champions and world beaters for 2024.
During its landmark decade of existence the Bahrain Victorious 13 has raced for world titles, pushed the limits of endurance, and promoted a culture of health, wellness, and endurance sporting excellence across the Gulf region and beyond, under the leadership and vision of team patron His Highness Shaikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Heading into Paris 2024, Olympic gold and silver medalist Georgia Taylor-Brown (GBR), Olympic silver medalist Hayden Wilde (NZL), Olympic bronze medalists Vincent Luis and Cassandre Beaugrand (FRA) and Henri Schoeman (RSA), and Paralympic silver medalist Lauren Parker (AUS) headline the team roster in representing their respective nations on sport’s biggest stage. In Parker’s case, she is aiming to qualify not just in paratriathlon, but also in paracycling where she currently holds the time trial world title.
Joining them on the road to Paris are U23 world champion and Super League Triathlon champion Kate Waugh (GBR) and Ironman 70.3 Middle East Championship bronze medalist Max Stapley (GBR), who are notable weapons in the super sprint distances involved in the mixed relay.
Taylor-Brown, Wilde, Luis, Beaugrand, Schoeman, Waugh, and Stapley will also form the Bahrain Victorious Scorpions racing as a team in the Super League Triathlon Championship Series. This powerhouse line-up has collectively won the individual male, female as well as team titles in the past three years.
Daniela Ryf (SUI) holds the distinction of being the longest-running member of the Bahrain Victorious 13 as well as its most-decorated. Having been with the team since its inception, during her tenure she has won nine world titles as well as set a new world record for the full triathlon distance.
Making his debut this year in the Bahrain Victorious 13 racing red will be Max Neumann (AUS). Aside from winning the Ironman Asia Pacific Championships three times in a row, he is most recently known for stunning a field of world champions including Jan Frodeno, Alistair Brownlee and Kristian Blummenfelt to take the win on the shores of Ibiza at the PTO European Open last year.
The team’s long-course roster also includes dual Olympic champion and two-time world champion Alistair Brownlee, Ironman and Ironman 70.3 vice world champion Kat Matthews, and multiple Ironman champion Joe Skipper all hailing from Great Britain.
Brownlee says, “We’ve got an exceptionally talented short and long course roster this year that are all chasing big goals in this Olympic/Paralympic year. I’m returning for my eighth year on the team and excited to be back fit and healthy after a challenging 2023 to pursue some big challenges of my own.”
