The Indian festival of colours, Holi, was celebrated by one of the largest expatriate communities in Bahrain over the weekend at the Shri Krishna Temple in Manama.
More than 8,000 Bahrain’s citizens and residents, including several ambassadors and dignitaries, attended the event.
Among the attendees were Italian Ambassador Andrea Catalino, Nepal Ambassador Tirtha Raj with his wife, Indian Embassy counsellor Rajiv Kumar Mishra and second secretary Ravi Jain, Chinese Embassy Deputy Ambassador Jiang Lei and second secretary Wang Zhen, Sri Lankan Embassy Charge D’Affaires Madhuka Silva, American Embassy public affairs officer Nicholas Von Mertens with his children and King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Co-existence director Abdulla Mannai.
Holi is a popular and significant Hindu festival celebrated as the Festival of Colours, Love, and Spring, featuring participants throwing coloured water and powder on each other.
