Call to open new recruitment markets after $100 rise in wages of Filipino domestic workers


The Bahrain Recruiters Society has urged authorities to open new recruitment markets following the Philippines’ decision to raise the minimum wage of its domestic workers from $400 to $500 a month, alongside stricter conditions, our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej reported.

The society warned that the 26 per cent increase would heavily impact Bahraini households, calling instead for a moderate rise of 10 to 15pc.
