
Bahrain ranked fifth globally among the world’s top 10 countries in mobile Internet speed, recording an average download speed of 233.22 Mbps in 2025, according to a report issued by Speedtest Global Index, of Ookla – a US-based company specialising in measuring and analysing Internet speeds worldwide.
Bahrain outperformed advanced digital infrastructure countries such as South Korea (225.29 Mbps) and Denmark (185.04 Mbps), reflecting the rapid development of the local telecommunications sector and continued investments in 5G networks.
The report noted that the UAE topped the global list with a speed of 584.97 Mbps, followed by Qatar (507.47 Mbps) and Kuwait (413.57 Mbps), while Saudi Arabia ranked eighth with 197.23 Mbps.
