A new state-of-the-art Neuroscience Centre has been inaugurated by the Royal Medical Services (RMS) at the BDF Hospital.
This is in line with the government’s strategy to strengthen Bahrain’s position as a regional hub for advanced healthcare and to advance specialised medicine through the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, said a statement yesterday.
RMS commander Brigadier Dr Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa Al Khalifa said the new centre reflected the royal directives to enhance the health system in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, marking a qualitative leap in neurological care through advanced diagnostic and treatment services.
“The centre provides comprehensive services for conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, deep brain stimulation and complex neurosurgeries, supported by advanced imaging systems,” he said.
“It also includes dedicated paediatric units offering individualised treatment plans and family support programmes.”
The RMS has made Parkinson’s care a top priority, establishing a unified pathway from early diagnosis to advanced treatments.
