Bahrain is committed to energy market security and stability, Transportation and Telecommunications Minister Dr Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa has said.
He emphasised the importance of enhancing international co-operation to face growing threats to supply chains and the key principles of global trade.
“These illegal activities not only threaten maritime safety and environmental protection but also pose direct risks to the global economy and financial systems, especially in strategic waterways like the Strait of Hormuz, Bab Al Mandab, and the Suez Canal, which handle most global trade,” he said.
Dr Shaikh Abdulla was addressing a session on maritime navigation leadership in the 13th Energy Markets Forum held in Fujairah, UAE, under the theme ‘How could the Midstream Energy Industry Reimagine Growth in a Disrupted World: Risks and Opportunities?’.
