Members of the community, supporters and volunteers recently gathered at Water Garden City in Manama to show solidarity with visually-impaired individuals.
The Walk with the Blind initiative was organised by the Friendship Society for the Blind under the theme ‘Supporting the Blind Is Everyone’s Duty’. The Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS) was also on hand.
The event was attended by Capital Governor Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa, paramedic Salah Al Badr and emergency technician Aqeel Sabt, reflecting the community’s collective commitment to supporting all those visually-impaired.
The event also marked White Cane Safety Day, showcasing the rights of the blind to move freely and independently with cane or guide dog.
