The sound of healing

A Bahrain-based sound and energy-healer has horses in the kingdom dancing to her tunes, while also facilitating mindfulness and gratitude among the community.

Indian expatriate Amrit Lamba from Jasra, who has been associated with different healing modalities for more than 20 years, observed a ‘promising’ response from the gentle beasts on her recent visit to a local stable.

“It was heartwarming to see the horses nodding their heads as I played my instruments, and straining their necks to get to know me,” the 54-year-old told GulfWeekly.

Amrit’s journey into sound healing began just before the Covid-19 pandemic when she experienced a sound bath session that sparked her curiosity.

She later pursued an online course and, most recently, attended a residential programme in Bangalore, India. Today, she uses singing bowls, tuning forks, and vocal tones as part of sound therapy to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Amrit started conducting individual sessions in 2021, but initially, they were restricted to friends and family.

“Now I am doing group sessions and have received a positive response,” the homemaker and mother-of-four added.

The idea to extend sound therapy to animals came recently.
