The British Embassy in Bahrain held its annual Christmas Carols get-together yesterday evening in its majestic gardens in Manama.
Ticket holders amongst the UK’s 4,000-strong expatriate community, some sporting ugly Christmas jumpers, enjoyed festive fare and drinks alongside carol singing from children studying at the kingdom’s British-curriculum schools.
“We look forward to this event because we can host the community, thank them for their contributions to life in Bahrain, show them the embassy which is a special place for the UK in Bahrain, and wish them all a happy Christmas,” said British Ambassador Alastair Long.
Father Christmas was the special guest who dropped in to check whether the children had been good enough this year to receive a sack full of presents later this month.
