A consumer awareness session held recently highlighted the risks of purchasing products from unauthorised suppliers, emphasising the hidden long-term consequences behind seemingly lower prices.
The event titled, ‘Why unauthorised purchases can cost you more’ was held at the iWorld Apple Premium Reseller (APR) Store at The Avenues Bahrain, bringing together members of the Press, social media influencers, and leading industry professionals.
IWorld Connect and Almoayyed Commercial Services chief executive officer Abhijit Mangle opened the session, stressing that unauthorised purchases carry significant risks. These include the absence of valid warranties, lack of official after-sales support, potential safety and compatibility issues, and no accountability if products fail.
“What may appear cheaper at the time of purchase can ultimately cost consumers far more,” Mr Mangle added.
IWorld Connect Retail business analyst Arshi Mohammed led an in-depth discussion on grey market practices, highlighting consumer risks, and the importance of choosing authorised and compliant channels.
