Scores of cultural enthusiasts gathered for an evening of Indian music and poetry, organised by the Sir Syed Educational and Cultural Society Bahrain.
Mehfil-e-Mushaira wa Ghazal, held at Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel’s Grand Ambassador Ballroom, brought eminent poets from the sub-continent under one roof for an evening of entertainment.
Popular Indian bard Professor Wasim Barelvi recited his verses and was joined by celebrated Urdu and Hindi poets such as Sampat Saral, Dr Nusrat Mehdi, Ahmed Adil, Shabeena Adeeb, Iqbal Azhar, Nadeem Shad, Himanchi Babra and Syed Muskan Reyaz.
The programme also featured beloved sibling duo Sarah and Samar Medhi, known for their soulful blend of traditional ghazals with contemporary indie sound.
