Jamaica's Toni-Ann Singh was crowned the 2019 Miss World during a glittering finals of the beauty pageant in London on Saturday (December 14).
The 23-year-old student was chosen out of 130 delegates who competed for several weeks in the British capital in six different preliminary competitions before the main event.
British TV personality Piers Morgan interviewed the final five contestants at the Miss World pageant.
The following were selected Top 5:
Winner: Miss Jamaica Toni-Ann Singh
First runner-up: Miss France Ophely Mezino
Second runner-up: Miss India Suman Rao
Fourth and fifth are Miss Brazil Elis Miele Coelho and Miss Nigeria Nyekachi Douglas (There is no classification after the second runner-up).
Toni-Ann Singh is studying psychology and women’s studies at Florida State University and hopes to go to medical school.
She is talented in classical opera, and says her mother is the most important person in her life because she facilitated Toni’s dream every step of the way.
During the main event, the pageant introduced all the delegates in a large opening number where each woman showed off her home country costume.
