Reuters recently reported that a quick-thinking Helsinki bakery has saved itself from financial ruin due to the new coronavirus pandemic by creating a cake that looks like a toilet roll.
When the dismayed staff at Ronttosrouva bakery saw how panicked consumers were hoarding toilet rolls, it sparked an idea….a toilet roll cake. The cake is made of oat batter, passion fruit mousse and covered with white fondant. Uliana Timofeeva told Reuters that the first five made were sold in an hour and soon became a social media hit.
The bakery now has hundreds of orders and its owner Saana Lampinen has even been able to hire two extra people to her nine-member team.
She was particularly thrilled to know all her employees were going to be safe for months to come thanks to this business boost. I guess you can say, they are on a roll.
