INJAZ Bahrain, in collaboration with the US Embassy in Bahrain, delivered 20 laptops to students who had difficulties accessing INJAZ Bahrain’s digital programmes and online schooling. The initiative, which aims to tackle the lack of resources some students may face, took place on July 5.
INJAZ Bahrain had conducted a survey to understand the effectiveness of its new digital programmes during Covid and to address any difficulties and concerns the students might have. The results of the survey showed that many students faced challenges either accessing the online programmes or online schooling due to the lack of essential resources such as laptops and desktops. In response to that, a grant was given by the US Embassy to support impacted students and enhance their digital learning experiences.
The embassy's assistant public affairs officer, Haynes Mahoney, participated in an online dialogue with INJAZ Bahrain students about their career goals and wished the creative young Bahrainis success.
Hana Sarwani, executive director at INJAZ Bahrain, said: “We are very grateful to the team at the US Embassy who were quick to support our students. We know that many students may face challenges during this digital transformation phase but with the continuous support of our sponsors, we can safely say that launching our digital programs has been a great success.”
The online programmes, delivered by INJAZ Bahrain, aim to educate students on workforce readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy, while at home. INJAZ Bahrain has been able to reach more than 5,000 students through its online programmes.
