The collection called Belmonde is inspired by the charisma and magnetic persona of famed French actor Jean-Paul Belmondo, and the cinematic characters he played through the 60s and 70s. It's also a subtle word play on "Bel Monde" borrowed from the French term “Beau Monde” – translated literally into “Beautiful World”.
This season’s line features a variety of daring and romantically untamed looks, comprised of the brand's signature intricate hand-cut leather, kaleidoscopic 70s print, delicate embroidered floral tulle, antenna cockerel feather chubbies, accentuated by modernist perplex chain belts, necklaces, and anklets. It boasts a combination of bespoke couture silhouettes worked into contemporary sportswear.
There are matching ensembles paired with colour coded accessories too. Primary hues, paired with provocative sartorial flair make for an enduring summer.
Kristina said: "I’ve been forever enraptured by Jean-Luc Godard’s satire of the lovers-on-the-run scenario with Anna Karina and Belmondo. The feeling of setting off on unplanned escapades and long coastal drives truly epitomizes the feeling of summer, and how beautifully life can be lived in those spontaneous moments – which I have intended to recreate through the ‘Belmonde’ collection."
