Krispy Kreme's homage to NASA’s Perseverance Rover

This Thursday NASA’s Perseverance Rover lands on Mars and to mark February 18,  Krispy Kreme in the US has created a donut that you can get for one day and one day only – the limited edition Mars Doughnut.

The new sweet treat, designed to look like the red planet, is filled with Chocolate Kreme, dipped in caramel icing with a red planet swirl, and topped with chocolate cookie crumbs.

According to Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme chief marketing officer, the landing of Perseverance on Mars will be an epic and important achievement.

The Perseverance had lifted off from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on July 30 last year and is toting the first-ever helicopter to be deployed on Mars, along with other technologies.

By the time it lands in Mars’ Jezero Crater, it will have travelled 292.5 million miles. The goal is to seek signs of ancient life and collect rock and soil samples.
