The number of daily Covid-19 cases in Bahrain surged to a record high yesterday at 2,354, alongside 1,535 recoveries and eight fatalities.
Two Bahraini men, 62 and 72; three Bahraini women, 59, 69 and 66; and three expat men, 65, 50 and 36, died yesterday, taking the death toll to 773.
Of the new cases, 855 were expat workers, 1,485 contacts of local cases and 14 travel-related.
An additional 1,535 people recovered, taking the total recoveries to 188,496.
Of the 17,609 active cases, 215 are receiving treatment and 197 in critical condition.
Bahrain has so far registered a total of 206,878 cases.
The kingdom has conducted 4,412,898 virus tests.
