2,766 new Covid-19 cases registered in Bahrain on Tuesday


The Covid pandemic has claimed 18 more lives in Bahrain, reports GDNOnline.

The Health Ministry said yesterday that 2,766 cases were registered yesterday, alongside 1,535 recoveries.

Bahrain recorded its highest daily death toll of 28 on Monday.

Eleven Bahrainis, seven men, aged 96, 52, 67, 78, 60 and 48, and four women, 52, 85, 53 and 67 died yesterday, taking the death toll to 866.

Seven expats, four women, 53, 67, 62 and 57 as well as three men, 34, 34 and 52, also died of coronavirus.

Of the new cases, 1,071 were expat workers, 1,679 contacts of local cases and 16 travel-related.

An additional 1,535 people recovered, taking the total recoveries to 198,220.

Of the 24,527 active cases, 322 are receiving treatment and 193 in critical condition.

Bahrain has so far registered a total of 223,613 cases.

The kingdom has conducted 4,529,080 virus tests.
